anynines’ infrastructure is located in the datacenter of Skyway Datacenter GmbH , located in Sankt Ingbert in the southwest of Germany.

Obviously, the choice of the datacenter is key to maximum overall system availability. Less obvious are a couple of lessons learned after years of operating clusters in various datacenters. It's boils down to the fact that the best datacenter is not necessarily the biggest, nor the one with the fasted backbone connection or the highest pricing.

For us it was about finding a partner who accompanies us building an awesome infrastructure for running your applications. We wanted somebody we can talk to, who understands our culture and ethics. Somebody who helps us to put our ideas of a real European cloud to life.

With Skyway DC we found a partner offering a maximum of flexibility and excellent consulting when it comes to hardware and networking. Together we realized a 10GBit/s cluster of servers for anynines.

Being located and registered as a company in Germany, Skyway DC also fulfilled the requirement to be 100% European complying to EU data privacy laws.

Supermicro hardware

In a large layered cloud infrastructure like anynines, the individual servers are of less importance than in a smaller environment. However, reliable hardware means less hick ups in service quality and that's why anynines is based on real server hardware not commodity hardware.
